We have a neat and traditional stable yard of 8 loose boxes which are constructed in either brick and flint with traditional timber beams, or timber stables.
Attached to the yard is the 16th century tack room, where each stable occupant has their own designated space consisting of: Large lockable storage chest; saddle rack; rug rack; bridle hook; general purpose hook.
The tack room also has permanent hot and cold water, tea and coffee making facilities, shared dry storage for jockeys food items, refrigerator for food storage or perishable medication, a toaster and a microwave.
There is also a first aid kit for the ‘jockeys’, and a fully stocked medicine cabinet for horses, should there be a need in an emergency.
Directly behind the yard is a walled garden which can also be used by our clients.
Also directly accessible from the yard is the Hay Barn. This is separated into two areas, one for storage of the haylage & bedding and the other for dry feed. The dry feed area has a large steel feed chest for shared use.
The muck heap is situated just away from the main yard along a prepared path.
There are also two external cold water points available for use.
The Stable Yard & Tack Room have been refurbished during the early months of 2009.
We want our clients to feel at home around the yard and make all the facilities available to them.
HAYLAGE & BEDDING:
Bedding - We have recently changed to Sundown Yellow bedding at Hall Acres, which is a chopped rape-seed straw product, similar to the likes of bliss or hemcore but far superior, it's double dust extracted and herbal treated.
This is delivered in dense 20kg bags and is an excellent bedding material, there is a constant supply available to our liveries.
The cost of bedding is included for all horses in training and full liveries. 5 day part liveries are entitled to 2 bales per week and 7 day part 3 bales included in the package.
Those owners on Assisted livery will simply make a mark against their name on the white board in the barn each time they use a new bale, and the cost will be added to their monthly invoice.
Haylage – Hall Acres are proud of the quality of the haylage on offer.
There are two grades available, Premium, which has a sustained protein content of around 12%; or our Meadow Grass haylage which has a 7-9% protein content.
Standard hay is also available if required.
All haylage & hay is included in the cost of livery.
Alternative bedding and haylage products can be provided by Hall Acres or brought in by liveries.
The stable yard at The Old Rectory enjoys nearly 30 acres of paddocks in which we aim to offer year round turn out.
During the spring and summer of 2009 we significantly improved the grazing available in our top fields, and these are now ready to ensure that quality turn out will be available during the autumn and winter months.
All paddock maintenance, including de-dropping will be carried out by Hall Acres directly. The cost is included in the livery tariff and there are no hidden charges.
If at any time we need to have access to your paddocks for maintenance, alternative grazing will be made available.
We have enough space for horses to be turned out in company or in individual paddocks; the choice is with the owner.
Horses turned out during the day will be regularly checked by Hall Acres staff.
There will never be slipped rugs, frozen water troughs, broken fences that are not attended to without delay.
During the summer months, horses may be turned out 24hours a day if the owner requires.
